Queensland Police have charged three teenagers after the allegedly stolen vehicle they were travelling in became stuck at Yatala yesterday afternoon, January 9.
It will be alleged around 2.20pm, a grey Mazda CX-8 was sighted by police at Eagleby.
PolAir continued to track the vehicle as the Mazda travelled south along the Pacific Motorway towards the Gold Coast.
The vehicle exited the highway at the Elysium Road off-ramp near Carrara before re-entering and travelling northbound towards Brisbane.
It will be further alleged that the occupants of the Mazda attempted to conduct a U-turn at an emergency site on the Pacific Motorway near Yatala, driving into a culvert and becoming stuck.
Officers attended the location and took all three occupants into custody without incident.
It will be alleged the Mazda was stolen from a residence in Coombabah on January 8 and was bearing number plates stolen from a Nissan Qashqai in Pimpama.
A 14-year-old Eagleby boy was charged with two counts of receiving tainted property and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, possession of a knife in a public place, possess utensils, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M (flick knife) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 13-year-old Cleveland boy was charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle – publish on social media, intent to commit indictable offence, stealing, using a false number plate, unlicensed driving, unlawful possession of a weapon, possess drug utensil, possession of a knife in a public place.
They are both due before Brisbane Childrens Court on January 10.
A 13-year-old Eagleby boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of a knife in a public place.
He is due before Beenleigh Childrens Court on January 15.
