Stolen vehicle charges, Toowoomba

Toowoomba detectives have charged three men with several property and vehicle offences after an allegedly stolen vehicle was intercepted by police in Millmerran yesterday afternoon (February 7).

It will be alleged the 4WD was stolen from an Augustine Heights address yesterday morning before being observed allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road in Griffith Street, Toowoomba at approximately 5pm.

Police with the assistance of Polair tracked the vehicle to Millmerran where officers successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at approximately 6pm.

The vehicle was abandoned in Campbell Street with four men allegedly leaving the scene on foot.

It will be alleged they entered the garage of a nearby residence with one of the men stealing a white Toyota Hilux and leaving the scene.

The other three men were taken into custody.

A 21-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

A 20-year-old Woodford man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent, attempted stealing and trespass.

An 18-year-old Wacol man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of enter dwelling with intent and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All three men have been denied bail to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court this morning (February 8)

The stolen white 2021 Toyota Hilux dual cab utility remains outstanding with police appealing for anyone who sights the vehicle to immediately contact them.

Investigations are ongoing.
