Escape lawful custody, Mount Isa

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate two men who escaped police custody in Mount Isa today, Sunday February 26.

Around 12.30pm, two men are believed to have damaged a window in the Mount Isa watchhouse on Isa Street and fled on foot near Camooweal Street, travelling in an easterly direction, they include:

A 19-year-old Aboriginal man who is 156cm tall with a slim build with short black curly hair and brown eyes. He has a black/brown beard and goatee and was last seen wearing dark clothing.

A 25-year-old Caucasian man who is 165cm tall with a medium build and short ginger/brown hair. He is heavily tattooed including on both sides of the neck, with large chest tattoos featuring wings. He is clean shaven with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing grey pants and is without a shirt.

The whereabouts of the men are unknown, and they are not considered dangerous to the public, however residents are urged not to approach the men and contact police with any sightings or information on their whereabouts.
