The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses as part of ongoing investigations into a fatal traffic crash at Barron on January 22.
Initial investigations suggest a 49-year-old man was walking along the side of Lower Freshwater Road when he was struck by a Nissan Navara around 5.25pm.
He was transported to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition, however later died as a result of his injuries.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Nissan Navara was not physically injured during the incident and has spoken with police.
Police are appealing for any witnesses the crash, or anyone who may have CCTV along Kamerunga Road between Aeroglen and Freshwater that captures vehicles driving past, including the one pictured, to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
