Update 3: Homicide investigation, Mansfield

Detectives have released the names and images of two men who may be able to assist with ongoing investigations into the alleged murder of a 23-year-old man at Mansfield on Monday.

Police commenced Operation Uniform Challenger after a man was attacked by four other men in a car park on Pine Mountain Road just before 1pm on September 13.

A 34-year-old East Brisbane man was arrested by dog squad officers a short distance from the scene and has since been charged with weapons offences.

Another 34-year-old Birkdale man was taken into custody this morning and is assisting with inquiries.

Anyone who may have seen the men, or know their whereabouts, is urged not to approach them but call Triple Zero.

Initial investigations suggest the 23-year-old victim was driving a white Mercedes outside of a business located on Pine Mountain Road, when he was confronted by two vehicles, a black Audi A3 hatchback and a white Nissan Patrol.

A group of four males exited the vehicles and allegedly assault him, pursuing him across the street.

The 23-year-old man collapsed on the corner of Brigadoon Street and Pine Mountain Road.

Emergency Services were notified and immediately attended, rendering first aid to the man on scene.

He was pronounced deceased a short time later as a result of his injuries, which included multiple stab wounds.

Investigations as part of Operation Uniform Challenger remain ongoing with an incident centre established at Upper Mount Gravatt.
