Detectives from The Maryborough Child Protection and Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was wounded in an altercation at Pialba last night (March 7).

It will be alleged the boy was walking along Taylor Street at approximately 8.15pm when he was approached by another boy and an argument ensued.

The other boy was seen to enter a grey sedan being driven by an unknown female, before leaving the area.

He is described as 17-years-old, with sandy, half-length hair, wearing black tracksuit pants, black shoes and a black t-shirt with white writing on the front.

The injured boy was transported to the Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage, to contact them.

It’s believed the two boys were not known to each other.
