Fatal traffic crash, Hamilton Island

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a woman died in a single vehicle crash on Hamilton Island yesterday afternoon.

Early investigations indicate around 4.30pm the woman was a passenger in a registered golf buggy, travelling south on Whitsunday Boulevard.

As the driver approached the intersection with Coral Sea Avenue, he commenced a U-turn and the buggy rolled.

The 29-year-old woman from NSW died at the scene.

The male driver was not physically injured in the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
